Women-owned businesses are getting more attention from both INFINITI and Waze as they partner together for International Women’s Day. The car manufacturer and navigation app are starting “Pave it Forward” during Women’s History Month throughout the month of March to bring more attention to historical landmarks and women-owned businesses throughout 14 different cities in the U.S. and Canada.

INFINITI USA’s director of marketing, Shelley Pratt, has been vocal about how the everyday initiatives of women are often understated in society and that brand’s focus is shifting to their positive efforts and how they contribute to their communities. The company wants to focus on the diversity of the women after discovering that many different studies have found various streets throughout the U.S. are disproportionately named after different types of women.

The different cities that have been selected for the partnership include Los Angeles, Houston, Vancouver, B.C., Nashville, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, New York City, Dallas, Miami, Tampa, and Toronto.

Users of Waze can drive through the selected cities while learning important facts about various landmarks, which the app will read verbally to ensure the driver can remain focused on the road. The National Women’s History Museum contributed to the project and was responsible for selecting the landmarks, which are all centered around women’s contributions to society. It will prove to be a way that local businesses are celebrated as users also get the chance to switch their car’s icon to a new 2022 INFINITI QX60. 

The chief revenue officer at Waze, Suzie Reider, has stated that the community is an integral part and focus of the app and heavily relies on volunteers for the information that is provided to other users. They’re excited about partnering with a major automaker to celebrate and honor the women who have helped shape some of the most popular cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. WHEN DOES INFINITI PLAN TO BE ALL ELECTRIC?

Infiniti had said that its goal is to have a mostly all-electric lineup by 2030. This is to be their goal.

Planning the Future

Previously, Infiniti had planned to focus on most hybrid vehicles for a while, but they have since changed their mind, and instead, they now plan to focus on mostly electric vehicles instead. They decided to shift from this approach because they weren’t able to bring the hybrid system they wanted to the U.S. At the price and MPG rating that they wanted. This is the rumor, in any event.

Instead, Infiniti now plans to focus its efforts going forward on fully-electric vehicles. They will continue offering combustion engine vehicles until 2040, by which time they hope to only offer electric vehicles after that point.

They called this strategy “reevaluation and reset” when it came to the powertrain specifically.

Focusing on Customers

INFINITI further went on to say that their change in policy connected to their focus on customers and luxury. They decided it was what their customers wanted, and they wanted to make sure that they offered their customers over the next decade a choice. This is what they have always tried to do. In this instance, Infiniti is attempting to make it so modern customers get choices between ICE and fully electric for their powertrains. They still plan on offering some options in between in the hybrid category, just not at the scale that they had planned for earlier. 

Some of these offerings will likely occur options insisted by their Q series, including the QX Inspiration SUV and others. These will likely include specifically a Qs Inspiration concept for 2023 and a fully electric option based on the QX Inspiration for 2022.

Part of this move would make it so that they would use a vehicle that would use one of the electric engines largely just as a generator.

2022 INFINITI QX80 SNEAK PEEK TECH FEATURES

It looks like the 2022 model year will be promising when it comes to the latest version of the INFINITI QX80. INFINITI has decided to update some of its technology features for this coming model year while leaving the exterior of the QX80 relatively the same.
