INFINITI Vehicle Warning Indicators
When an issue is occurring with your vehicle, your computer may alert you that something is going on by way of a dashboard indicator light. Read on to find out more about the 10 most common service indicators that you should watch out for.
Airbag Fault
If your airbag is not properly engaging when you start your vehicle, you may receive an alert. If the airbag indicator is on and not going off on its own, make a service appointment with us to have things checked out.
Low Fuel Level Warning Light
If you put off filling your gas tank for too long and it has gotten very low, your vehicle will let you know that it’s a good idea to head to a local gas station for a fill up.
Oil Pressure Warning Light
Don’t continue driving your vehicle if you are alerted of an oil pressure issue. Pull over somewhere that is safe so you can check the oil level in your vehicle. If there seems to be an adequate level present, you can continue driving your vehicle. If the light doesn’t turn itself off, it is time to make an appointment with our INFINITI of Peoria service center.
Service Vehicle Soon
INFINITI vehicles are programmed with an alert that will notify you approximately every 5,000 miles that routine service is needed. It will likely be time to seek an oil change, tire rotation, and have your fluids topped off.
TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
It’s important that you don’t have too much or too little air in your tires. This could put you at a greater risk of a tire blowout or losing control. If your TPMS alert comes on, check the pressure in all four of your tires. If the light doesn’t switch off after a few miles, an appointment will be necessary.
Slip Indicator
Your dashboard indicator will light up when your Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control systems are on. This technology will engage when your vehicle has trouble maintaining its grip on the road.
Charging System Warning Light
Damaged wiring, a broken fan belt, or a battery issue can cause your charging system warning light to turn on. Don’t let a battery issue go undiagnosed for any length of time. This could cause permanent damage to this system.
Brake System
The dashboard indicator for your INFINITI may let you know if there is a problem with your antilock braking system. You should maintain use of your brakes, but heading to the dealership is a good idea.
Open Door Warning Light
One of your doors or your trunk lid may not have latched properly when you closed it. You’ll need to step out of your vehicle and correct the problem before you get going.
Coolant Level Warning
Improper coolant levels can result in your vehicle overheating. This leads to catastrophic failure to your engine, so pull over immediately.
