The INFINITI Q50 Eau Rouge was one of the most talked about new concepts in 2014, so much so that the automaker was planning to create a production model of the sedan. Unfortunately, those plans were put on hold early last year, but it looks like there might be some hope left, as INFINITI has announced a possible halo model of the Eau Rouge could come out in the next few years.
A halo model is a term coined for vehicles that are the standout model for a particular brand, one that will get customers interested, especially at a younger age. The Eau Rouge would definitely fit that bill perfectly, thanks to its gorgeous, athletic design scheme and fantastic interior amenities.
INFINITI head, Roland Kruger, announced the possibility of a halo model, especially as the brand releases two of its newest offerings, the Q30 and the Q60. Fitting the Eau Rouge between those two high-powered models would work beautifully, something that INFINITI seems to be considering.
“Every premium brand that has performance aspirations needs a halo model – a model at the forefront that symbolizes power and performance,” said Kruger. “But we need to concentrate on cars like Q30. That said, next year we will launch the Q60 with a powerful 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine. That car will definitely be very special.”
We have no further details about when we might see a production model of the Q50 Eau Rouge, but stay tuned to our blog to discover all the latest news about INFINITI’s terrific line of upcoming models.
