‘Tis the season to delight in the performing arts! Phoenix is home to talented performers and some of the best plays and ballets you’ll find in the Southwest. Take a look at our list of the top three holiday performances now playing in the Valley.

Ballet Arizona Presents “The Nutcracker”

There are few plays more enchanting than “The Nutcracker,” especially when performed by the talented dancers at Ballet Arizona. Choreographed by the nationally-recognized Ib Andersen and featuring Tchaikovsky’s original score, this play has earned national acclaim. Take a break from the stress of the holidays and enter the magical world of dancing toys, charming Nutcracker Princes and mischievous Mouse Kings.

This treasured holiday tradition is in its twenty-seventh year, and is playing now through Dec. 24 at Symphony Hall. Tickets can be purchased online or through the box office, which is located at 2845 E. Washington St. in Phoenix.

Catch “A Christmas Carol: The Musical” at Herberger Theater Center

Another holiday classic returns to the Valley this year, adding a melodic twist to Dickens’ age-old tale of hope and redemption. Herberger Theatre Center and Arizona Broadway Theatre join forces to present the story of our favorite miserable miser, Ebenezer Scrooge. This performance is a favorite among Phoenix play-goers, so you won’t hear a Bah Humbug in the house-well from anyone in the audience that is!

See “A Winnie-The-Pooh Christmas Tail” Performed By the Valley Youth Theatre

The cutest play of the season is now playing! Join Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and the rest of the gang as they embark on the search for Eeyore’s missing tail. It’s a Valley Youth Theatre tradition, and one that is sure to replenish your holiday spirit.
